Tracking job changes in HubSpot
Monitor every contact in your HubSpot lists for job changes. The moment someone updates their LinkedIn role, your team is alerted — and the contact record is updated automatically with their new title, company, and verified contact details.

Why job changes matter
The window to act on a job change is short. A champion who moves to a new company is 3x more likely to buy from you again — but only if you reach them before they've set a new stack. A closed-lost prospect who gains budget authority at a new role is a warm re-engagement. A champion who leaves a current client puts that account at risk.
Most CRMs show you a job change days or weeks after it happened, if at all. Daily monitoring means you're first.
Three scenarios worth acting on
The Champion Move A happy user moves to a new company and is in the market right now. Alert fires the moment they update LinkedIn. Re-engage before they've chosen new vendors.
The Closed-Lost Resurrection A prospect who loved your product but couldn't buy now has budget authority at a new role. The objection that killed the deal is gone. The relationship is warm. Re-open it.
The Churn Prevention Your internal champion leaves a current client. The new person didn't choose you. Get notified immediately so CS can build the relationship before renewal.
Prerequisites
HubSpot connected (see [Connecting HubSpot and mapping fields])
LinkedIn match property configured (see [Setting up LinkedIn matching and the Profile Finder])
A HubSpot list or lifecycle stage containing the contacts you want to monitor
Setting up job change monitoring
Job change monitoring is configured as a sync rule — the same dialog as Engagement Sync, but with a different activity type selected.
Step 1 — Go to Social Sync settings
Go to Integrations → HubSpot → Social Sync tab.
Step 2 — Create a sync rule
Click Create Sync Rule. In the rule dialog:
Step 1 — Source Select your HubSpot list or lifecycle stage.
Step 2 — Activity type Select Track and Sync Job Changes.
Additional options appear:
Email Finder — when enabled, the platform automatically finds a verified email address for the contact when they change company, and syncs it back to their HubSpot record. Costs -1 credit per verified email found.
Job change scan frequency — how often to check for changes. Options: Weekly (recommended), Daily, Every 2 Weeks, Monthly. Daily monitoring gives you first-mover advantage over tools that check weekly or monthly.
Step 3 — Rule options Set the rule name, maximum contacts for initial import (1–500), and enabled status.
Click Create import rule to save. A Job Changes Signal is created automatically.
Step 3 — Configure notifications
After saving the rule, set up how your team gets alerted:
Slack — select a channel to receive instant alerts when a job change is detected
Email — enter an email address to receive digests of job changes
Alerts include the person's name, previous role and company, new role and company, and a link to their LinkedIn profile.
What gets updated in HubSpot
When a job change is detected, the platform:
Updates the contact's job title and company in HubSpot automatically
Writes a note to the contact timeline recording the change (previous role → new role)
Fires Slack and/or email alerts to your team
If Email Finder is enabled: finds their verified email at the new company and syncs it to the contact record
Your team doesn't need to manually update anything. The record is accurate before they open it.
